Job Overview: As a Charity Outreach Worker, you will be the key link between our charitable
organisation and the communities we serve. Your role is to engage with target beneficiaries, raise
awareness about our programs and services, and provide support to individuals and families in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with individuals, families, and
community organisations to understand their needs, concerns, and challenges. - Program Promotion: Promote the charity’s programs and services to the target population,
ensuring that they are aware of available resources and how to access them. - Needs Assessment: Conduct needs assessments within the community to identify specific
challenges, gaps, and opportunities for the charity’s involvement. - Support Services: Provide direct support to beneficiaries, including offering information,
referrals, and assistance in accessing relevant services. - Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of the community to address systemic issues and barriers that
prevent beneficiaries from accessing essential services and resources. - Outreach Activities: Organise and participate in community outreach events, workshops,
and information sessions to engage the target population. - Case Management: Maintain accurate records of beneficiary interactions and case
management, ensuring that individuals receive ongoing support. - Resource Referral: Connect beneficiaries to internal and external resources, such as housing
assistance, healthcare, job training, and other essential services. - Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and crisis intervention to individuals facing
emergency situations or personal challenges. - Collaboration: Work closely with other charity team members and external organisations to
coordinate and enhance the delivery of services. - Data Collection: Collect and maintain data related to outreach activities, beneficiary
demographics, and program impact. - Reporting: Prepare regular reports to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts and to
provide feedback to the organisation’s leadership. - Education and Awareness: Educate the community about relevant health, social, and
economic issues and how to navigate available resources.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, public health) is often
preferred. - Experience in community outreach, social work, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse communities.
